Pompom potatoes

Pompom potatoes or usually known as tater tots is a snack made from deep fried grated potato. Recognize as crispy, ball shaped snack, I tried to make with cheesy filling.

Ingredients:
Fresh potato
salt, pepper powder
grated garlic
well shaken egg
wheat flour
grated cheddar cheese
breadcrumbs
fried oil
mayonaise
sambals

directions:
steam potato for 15 minutes and then grated
add salt, pepper powder, grated garlic into the grated potato and mix them all
add egg, wheat flour and cheddar cheese and mix them all 
make the potato dough into small balls
roll it into breadcrumbs
deep fry
serve pompom potatoes with mayonaise and sambals



Tongseng Jamur

Tongseng is goat meatmutton or beef stew dish in curry-like soup with vegetables and sweet soy sauce. Originally from Surakarta in Indonesian province of Central Java.
The soup is made of ground mixture of garlicshallotblack peppergingercoriandergalangal, bay leaves and lemongrass sauteed with palm oil until it gets aromatic. The diced meat then poured into the sauteed mixture until cooked. Add water until it boiled and add sweet soy sauce with tamarind juice. After the boiled mixture reduces, add shredded cabbages and sliced tomato. Some versions are prepared using coconut milk.
Tongseng is usually served with hot steamed rice. Today we will find not only meat as main ingredients but mushroom is also can be the alternative. So, here the mushroom tongseng recipe:
Ingredients:
fresh button mushroom
coconut milk
mineral water
fine spices: shallot, garlic, ginger, turmeric, nutmeg, pepper powder, galangal
lime leaves, bay leaves
cabbage
red cayenne pepper
fresh tomato
palm sugar
sweet soy sauce
salt

directions:
stir fry the fine spices until it smells good
add lime leaves and bay leaves
add coconut milk and mineral water, mix them all
add button mushroom, chopped cabbage, red cayenne pepper and chopped tomato
add palm sugar, sweet soy sauce and salt
cook until all ingredients is cooked
serve with hot steamed rice


Simple chicken congee

Who doesn't know chicken congee? Everyone knows congee. Congee is a type of rice porridge so popular in Asian country. Including Indonesia. People in Indonesia usually eat chicken congee for breakfast. Chicken congee here is served with shredded chicken meat and then serve with fresh chopped spring onion, fried shallot, fried soybean and chinese crullers called cakwe. Here, I share how to cook a simple chicken congee which using fast food fried chicken which we can find it anywhere.
Ingredients:
rice
mineral water
salt
bay leaves
chicken feet
fine spices: shallot. garlic. turmeric, pepper powder, coriander and nutmeg
shredded chicken meat ( I used fast food fried chicken)
celery, fine chopped
dried red chilli powder

directions:
cook rice and mineral water on the pan
add salt, bay leaves and chicken feet
meanwhile, stir fry the fine spices, add into rice porridge and mix them all
add shredded chicken meat, celery and dried red chilli powder
mix them all
cook until all ingredients is cooked
serve hot is better


Gulai telur ikan padang

Gulai is a type of food containing rich, spicy and succulent curry-like sauce commonly found in Indonesia and Malaysia. The main ingredients might be poultrybeefmutton, various kinds of offal, fish and seafood, and also vegetables such as cassava leaves and unripe jackfruit. The gulai sauces commonly have a thick consistency with yellowish color because of the addition of ground turmeric. Gulai sauce ingredients consist of rich spices such as turmericcorianderblack peppergalangalgingerchilli peppershallotgarlic,fennellemongrasscinnamon and caraway, ground into paste and cooked in coconut milk with the main ingredients.
Gulai is originated in Sumatra, Indonesia and is thought to be the local adaptation of Indian curry, developed and derived from Indian and influence on Indonesian cuisine. The dish is popular and widely served in the Indonesian archipelago, especially in SumatraJava and also Malay peninsula and Borneo. The thick and yellowish gulai sauce is one of the most common sauces in Minangkabau cuisine, to gave a rich and spicy taste to meats, fish, or vegetables. The ingredients are simmered and slowly cooked in coconut milkspice mixture and chili pepper. The thick golden, yellowish, succulent and spicy gulai sauce has become the hallmark of Padang restaurant's window display everywhere. In Padang, smart cooking means the capability of preparing gulai. The gulai sauce found in Minangkabau, Aceh, and Malay cuisine usually has a thicker consistency, while the gulai in Java is thinner, served in soup-like dishes containing pieces of mutton, beef or offal. Gulai is usually served with steamed rice, however, some recipes such as goat or mutton gulai might be served with roti canai
Today, i tried to make Gulai telur ikan Padang (the Padangnese fish egg gulai) which is commonly in Padang restaurant. Here the ingredients:
Steamed fish egg cake, cut into 8 pieces
fine spices: shallot, garlic, red chilli, red cayenne pepper, coriander powder, ginger, turmeric, salt, sugar
bay leaves
coconut milk
mineral water
directions:
stir fry with margarine, the fine spices until it smells good
add coconut milk and mineral water
add steamed fish egg cake
cook until all the ingredients is cooked


Shrimp with butter sauce

Ingredients:
fresh shrimp
lime juice
butter margarine
spring onion, chopped
oyster sauce
worcestershire sauce
sweet soy sauce
tomato ketchup
salt, sugar, pepper powder
mineral water
big onion, fine chopped
garlic, fine chopped

directions:
marinate shrimp with lime juice, keep it stand for a while
stir fry with butter margarine, big onion and garlic until it smells good
add fresh shrimp and spring onion
add oyster sauce, worcestershire sauce, sweet soy sauce, tomato ketchup
add salt, sugar and pepper powder
add mineral water, mix them all
cook until the shrimp cooked


Kue cubit green tea (green tea pinch cake)

Kue cubit (pinch cake) is commonly snack from Jakarta. It is a cake with small shape and using simple ingredient such as wheat flour, sugar and milk. The liquid dough is poured into a steel plate and add topping such as chocolate sprinkle or blue berry jam. It is called as cubit because of its small size. I tried to make pinch cake with green tea powder. Here the recipe:

Ingredients:
2 eggs
100 gr sugar
100 gr wheat flour
75 gr margarine, melted
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
1/2 teaspoon of baking powder
3 spoon of green tea powder

directions:
mix egg and sugar using mixer
add wheat flour gently and melted margarine
add vanilla extract, baking soda and baking powder
mix them all
add green tea which already mix with hot water and mix them all
keep it stand for a while
preheat the stainless steel plate/ pinch cake mold with small heat
pour the liquid dough
cook until it cooked

Gulai Tuna


Ingredients:
fresh tuna cut into pieces
shallot, garlic
turmeric, ginger, lemongrass, galangal
green cayenne pepper
lime leaves
coconut milk
mineral water
salt, pepper powder, fish stock powder
margarine

directions:
grind shallot, garlic, turmeric and salt
stir fry with margarine the fine spices
add lemongrass, ginger, galangal and lime leaves
mix them all
add fresh tuna
add pepper powder and fish stock powder
add coconut milk and mineral water
add green cayenne pepper
mix them all
cook until all ingredient is cooked


snaps bean and beef meat in oyster sauce


Ingredients:
snaps bean cut into small pieces
beef meat, previously boil in slow cooker
big onion, fine chopped
garlic, fine chopped
shallot, fine chopped
red chilli, cut into fine pieces
green chilli, cut into fine pieces
tomato
oyster sauce, sweet soy sauce
salt, sugar, pepper powder
mineral water
margarine

directions:
stir fry with margarine, big onion, garlic, shallots, red chilli and green chilli until smells good
add beef meat, snaps bean and tomato
add oyster sauce, sweet soy sauce, salt, sugar and pepper powder
add some water
cook until all ingredients are cooked

Yogtail mangga


Ingredients:
plain yogurt
fresh mango

directions:
blender yogurt and mango
serve cold is better

Beef potato teriyaki



Ingredients:
potato
beef meat
carrots
garlic
big onion
teriyaki sauce
margarine
sugar, salt, pepper powder
mineral water

directions:
boil potato with mineral water, add some salt
stir fry with margarine, fine chopped garlic and big onion until it smells good
add beef meat which is cut into small pieces
add some mineral water
add teriyaki sauce, sugar, salt and pepper powder
add boiled potato and carrot
cook until all the ingredients is cooked

Mun Tahu kaldu udang


Ingredients:
Local tofu, cut into little cubes
shrimp stock
dumpling skin
shallot
garlic
cornmeal
salty soy sauce
pepper powder
spring onion

directions:
stir fry shallots and garlic
add shrimp stock
add tofu and dumpling skin
add salty soy sauce, pepper, cornmeal and spring onion
cook until all the ingredients is cooked

Green tea Banana Smoothies

Ingredients:
Ambon Banana
Fresh milk
Yakult
Honey
Green tea powder

Directions:
Blender all the ingredients
serve cold is better

Sambal ijo teri basah

Sambal ijo or famous in the name of Sambal Lado is originally from Minang. I tried to make sambal ijo with fresh anchovies which is common in Balikpapan. Here the recipe:

Ingredients:
Fresh anchovies, deep fry first
big green chili
shallot
garlic
salt
fried oil

Directions:
Boil green chilli, shallot and garlic
grind green chilli, shallot, garlic and salt
stir fry the spice until smells good
add fried anchovies
mix them all

microwave oven Choco Green tea brownies


Ingredients:
75 gr margarine
1/4 teaspoon salt
100 gr white chocolate compound
2 eggs
50 gr sugar
50 gr wheat flour
chocochips
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 spoon green tea powder

Directions:
melt margarine, sugar and white chocolate with au bain marie technique
mix egg and sugar, add the melting ingredient gently
add wheat flour, baking powder and green tea powder
add chocochips
pour the dough into glass container
bake with microwave oven for 15 minutes

green tea donut


Ingredients:
500 gr wheat flour
250 gr potato
4 eggs
250 gr milk powder
200 gr margarine
1 sachet fermipan
2 spoon green tea powder
100 gr castor sugar

directions:
steam potato then mashed it
mix eggs and margarine using whisk ( do not use mixer )
add wheat flour, milk powder, fermipan and green tea powder
mix them all
knead until smooth
cover the dough with napkin until dough ready to fry
shape into donuts
deep fry with fried oil
mix green tea powder and castor sugar
sprinkle donut with green tea powder and castor sugar

Homey Sardines


Ingredients:
Fresh sardines
Red chilli
garlic, shallot
tomato
salt, sugar
bay leave, ginger, lime leave
lime juice
mineral water

directions:
marinate fresh sardines with salt and lime juice
keep it stand for a while
steam the sardines
boil tomato, blend boiled tomato with red chilli, garlic and shallot
stir fry the spice, add bay leave, ginger and lime leaves
stir fry until smells good
add mineral water and sugar
add the steam sardines
mix them all

Green tea latte

Starbuck Green tea latte is so............. refreshing. I love it! Enjoying new york cheesecake and green tea latte at the starbuck corner is my favourite when i go with my husband just for light talk. Slightly bitter and sweet combination of green tea powder or matcha and warm milk is so simple to make it at home.


Ingredients:
Creamer milk
green tea powder
warm mineral water

Directions:
Add creamer milk and green tea powder on the mug
add warm mineral water
mix them all
